1. Better not to place your personal Information on your Public Profile.
A public profile is the information page that is visible to all including those who are not your friends. So Keeping your Personal information like your residential address, phone number, date of birth, etc on the public profile wont be a good practice. 2. Don't Accept all Friend Requests
At first when you join Facebook you are likely to get a lot of friend requests. Be sure that you only confirms the persons that you know already. 7. Avoid Clicking on suspicious links or emails
A lot of link and emails will be posted in your profile by yours friends or by the pages or groups that you have joined. Some times the links may look suspicious so do not click it because it may lead you to any dangerous sites or those may send malwares or viruses to your computer. So use good judgement while going to click a link or email.
8. Use a Antivirus Software and keep it updated.
Like i said in the above tip, its likely to have viruses on your system that may be send by spammer through a link or email that he had posted in your profile. So antivirus programs which are kept updated have will have the capability of blocking such viruses from entering your system.
9. Careful while using Wireless hot spots
If you are using a public untrustworthy wireless hot spot it is better to keep changing your password when you return to your primary location.
10. Better use good language and avoid spelling errors.
Use good language while chatting or posting. If you use a bad term it may create a tendency in the other to give you a kick. So better and good language will result in good friendship. Also it will be a good practice to the check spelling . since we are all busy the fast typing may result in spelling errors. So there is high chance for you to mistakenly type a word that is offensive. So checking the spelling right at the beginning will save your time in trying to solve a mistake which offends your friend or relatives.
